me: what madness ? i m used to that :D
Saavi: in my office there r 2 associations, i used to work for the other, now im working for this. from b4 there is very big competition between both n bosses from both r not getting along. so, the others got a proposition to be partners in a project but they bypassed it. the people with the project then turned to us n our boss accepted. so we started working on the project and promoting. the other bosses learned, got angry and immediately started developing the same project, separately.
so now, both agencies r promoting the same sort of thing, but organized by different entities and r competing, who will get more people to participate in the project.
unfortunately, for my agency im alone, n i have to gather 60 ppl. the other organization has more resources and people, and put all their efforts in attracting ppl to their project.
i was very much scared that i will not be able to gather the 60 ppl necessary n i will ruin our project, just bcos the companies will turn to the other association not mine.
we r competing now who will get the people n apart from this i was and am very much upset with the whole situation bcos it is one big absurd.
we r literally competing who will answer the phone when ppl call to inquire about the project.
me: got it. so why u changed association ? is it like trade unions?
Saavi: i guess branch association. the other is. and mine is, local chapter of the international real estate federation. the others r our members but there is fierce struggle between the bosses which reflects on us too. i left the other cos i didnt want to work any longer there. i planned to join another job at all, but got very big pressure from bosses of this one to join here. i refused once, but then accepted. cos they pressured me a lot
me: pressured ? :P hw ? u ve no way to deny that u dont want to join their association ?
Saavi: no i didnt want, but they said oh come on come on, we want u here very much, so and so and i did. salary was also good. at the end i thought, ok why not?
me: thats confusing. u r in the same company, how come diff salary?
Saavi: its not same company. we share the office but the companies r separate.
me: so the federation gives work to diff associations as per merit ?
